Mactac, a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) supplier with more than 25 years of experience in the gasket and foam fabricating market, has released new foam bonding test results for Zotefoams products.
Zotefoams is known as a leading manufacturer of cross-linked block foams. The company produces a wide range of foams for worldwide use in sports, construction, marine, automation, medical equipment and aerospace applications.
The results from the recent foam-bonding test showcase the performance of a selection of Mactac’s proprietary rubber and acrylic adhesive products on Zotefoams’ foam materials. Customers can use the test results as an aid for choosing the best adhesive for various laminating applications.
“Mactac has a rich history of successful supplier-to-supplier partnerships in the foam fabrication industry, including partnerships with major foam manufacturers like Zotefoams, to test and approve PSAs for challenging applications,” says Janet Page, marketing manager, Mactac Performance Adhesives. “Many of the markets in which Zotefoams products are used require a PSA, and through these test results, Mactac is helping customers easily choose the right PSA for their application—no guesswork needed.”
Mactac products included in the foam-bonding test for Zotefoams foam solutions, are:
Rubber Adhesives
MP593XT: A proprietary, cost-effective adhesive for industrial tape applications featuring high tack and peel properties, excellent shear properties, good low-surface energy performance, and dimensional stability for enhanced diecutting.
MP899 Foam Bonding Tape: An aggressive, double-faced tape designed to bond to a wide variety of challenging surfaces with added benefits such as high peel adhesion, quick initial tack, excellent shear performance, dimensional stability for diecutting and handling, and high temperature resistance.
Acrylic Adhesives
MP410: A solvent-free, high-tack double-coated tape and transfer adhesive featuring Mactac’s 100% solids adhesive technology and boasting qualities such as excellent optical properties, enhanced adhesion performance, outstanding resistance to UV rays, solvents, chemicals and plasticizers, and versatility for multi-purpose needs.
LV820: A low-VOC, acid-free adhesive that provides high tack and peel, good shear properties, chemical and UV resistance, excellent handling and diecutting, and is designed for use in applications that require aggressive performance combined with no out-gassing or fogging.
These adhesive tape solutions are designed especially for foam bonding, gasketing, automotive, building and construction, and sports and leisure applications. Each tape features a two-year shelf life. The tapes were tested on the following Zotefoam solutions:
EV50: Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer foam
HD30: High density polyethylene foam (HDPE)
LD24: Low density polyethylene foam (LDPE)
LD45: Low density polyethylene foam (LDPE)
VA35: Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer foam
