Labelmaster, a provider of labels, packaging and technology for the safe and compliant transport of dangerous goods and hazardous materials, has announced that it has been named the exclusive label manufacturer and distributor for CHEMTREC. The partnership supports both companies’ commitment to the safe and compliant shipping of dangerous goods by providing CHEMTREC customers with a go-to source for printing labels containing the CHEMTREC number.
A service of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), CHEMTREC is a leading source of information and emergency incident support for shippers of hazardous materials (hazmat). The organization provides around-the-clock service to firefighters, law enforcement officials and other emergency responders who need immediate, critical response information for emergency incidents involving chemicals, hazardous materials and dangerous goods. CHEMTREC also provides services that allow shippers of hazardous materials to comply with government hazardous materials regulations.
“In the hazmat supply chain, it is important that everyone involved, including manufacturers, shippers, carriers, government agencies, as well as emergency responders, has access to the critical information and support services they need,” says John Modine, chief executive, CHEMTREC. “Having Labelmaster as our exclusive label manufacturer and distributor will make the compliance process easier for our customers by giving them a single source for printing CHEMTREC labels. Partnering with a single provider will also allow us to better manage who is putting the CHEMTREC number on their shipments and ensure they are properly registered as customers.”
Having provided CHEMTREC customers with labels for many years, expanding the partnership to appoint Labelmaster as its exclusive label manufacturer and distributor is the next step in the two industry leaders making regulatory compliance and safety easier for shippers.
“CHEMTREC and Labelmaster are dedicated to the safe transport of dangerous goods, and expanding our partnership supports that commitment,” adds Alan Schoen, president, Labelmaster. “In the unfortunate event of an emergency involving dangerous goods, CHEMTREC can be confident that they have complete and accurate data around all shipments carrying the CHEMTREC number.”
