Flint Group’s labels and packaging technologies will present possibilities and signpost opportunities at the newest Labelexpo event – Labelexpo Southeast Asia.
Taking place from May 10-12 at Bitec, Bangkok, the event’s premise is a clear focus on label and packaging printing. As such, it will be the perfect platform for Flint Group to highlight the combined industry strengths of four of its divisions, namely Flexographic, Narrow Web, Digital Solutions (Xeikon and ThermoFlexX). Flint Group’s solutions, designed to enable label printers and converters to enhance their production performance and embrace emerging markets, can be found on stands B14 and B16.
“We are excited to support the first Labelexpo Southeast Asia,” comments Antoine Fady, CEO Flint Group. “We are looking forward to showing label and packaging specialists our latest market leading technologies and innovations brought together on one booth. With our highly expert team from narrow web, Flexographic Products and digital print we will also provide updates and insight on everything from prepress and pre-production, to digital print and embellishments, converting and delivery.”
Xeikon will be demonstrating how its Xeikon 3300 roll-to-roll configuration supports high-quality production of self-adhesive and the heat-transfer labels. The cost-effective entry level narrow web label press excels in productivity and prints at true 1200 dpi, offering operators high quality, flexibility and operations scalability.
“The Xeikon 3300 is the cornerstone of our comprehensive portfolio of toner-based digital label presses,” comments Bent Serritslev, general manager Asia for Xeikon. “It offers label and packaging converters a truly flexible solution that can grow as their business grows. It also helps businesses investigate new market opportunities. This is something we can further support with our aXelerate program, established to help customers expand their services, more effectively sell digital and increase volume, thus making Xeikon a viable and sustainable investment”
Converters can consider new market opportunities with Flint Group Narrow Web’s comprehensive range of food packaging compliant printing inks for all major printing technologies: UV Mercury Flexo, UV LED Flexo, Water Based Flexo and UV Offset. Among the latest innovations on show will be the recent advances in low migration – with a special focus on the award winning and ground-breaking UV LED low migration technology, EkoCure Ancora.
Kelly Kolliopoulos, global marketing director, Flint Group Narrow Web, explains, "Food packaging opportunities that did not exist before are being opened up by low migration LED curable inks and printing systems. LED systems operate at much lower temperatures which enables Narrow Web customers to print on heat sensitive films. They can also meet food packaging compliance thanks to Flint Group's novel low migration ink chemistry. We are excited to show visitors our economic model detailing how fast return on investment can be, as well as the latest on food packaging compliance, LED and reliability of cure."
She concludes, “The latest addition to our LED curing portfolio will also be demonstrated, EkoCure XS – A UV LED flexo ink system for shrink sleeves with improved adhesion for the fastest printing speeds.
Flint Group’s Flexographic division's comprehensive portfolio includes nyloflex printing plates and equipment and rotec sleeves and adapters. The latest addition is the easier to use nyloflex Xpress Thermal Processing System. It delivers thermal platemaking with no compromise in quality and will demonstrate highly consistent and stable plate production.
Friedrich von Rechteren, VP sales EMEA and global marketing, states, “We have reviewed the thermal process holistically and that has enabled us to build this highly responsive portfolio of solutions that are in a class of their own. The combination of best in equipment design, plate development and engineered fabric, has enabled us to create solutions that help reduce costs, enhance quality and improve sustainability.
To expand Flint Group’s offering for the label market, the nyloprint WF Sharp will also be announced during the show. The water-washable, film-based plate for the high-end label market improves quality with high line counts for reproduction of finest details.
Meanwhile, ThermoFlexX will showcase its ThermoFlexX 30, supporting plate sizes up to 635 x 762 mm and 3,94 mm thick. Its plate clamping system and vacuum slider offers seamless plate handling. The ThermoFlexX 30 is also available with a hybrid drum, able to process both polyester flexo plates and "Steel-back" letterpress plates.
“Our imagers incorporate numerous unique capabilities that enhance production and aid flexibility," says Christophe Lievens, director of aales and marketing for ThermoFlexX. "This includes our in-house developed optics that support imaging at different resolutions and the ability to image different resolutions on a single plate while imaging. While our maximum resolution of 5080 dpi means we can create extremely high-quality products. Last but not least, our unique vacuum slider concept allows production of partial plates without the need to fix plates with tape, improving overall productivity. ThermoFlexX, innovative flexo imagers, creating value for our customers."
