Position Summary:
Perform project leadership, engineering design, development and problem solve equipment, manufacturing and supporting processes. Responsible for all phases of machine control design.
- Recognized for application of theoretical Electrical and controls engineering knowledge and process understanding
- Lead/coordinate the integration/validation of assigned projects
- Recognize, define and develop new electrical/control system concepts
- Direct the modeling of components/assemblies for machine segments or modules meeting specifications
- Specify and select vendor components
- Provide designs that are manufacturable and meet safety standards
- Present and participate in review of designs
- Complete assigned work within established schedule
- Lead/coordinate completion of design documentation with minimal errors including part and assembly drawings, Bill of Materials, Specification sheets, Modification kits, schematics, point to point diagrams, harness diagrams, source code, and project files
- Demonstrate the development of creative solutions or alternatives to assigned electrical/control systems problems/opportunities
- Demonstrated proficiency in PLC operation, integration, and programming
- Demonstrated proficiency in GUI and high level language programming
- Understand roles of other functions and provide project support as appropriate
- Participate in team processes and contribute to team objectives
- Communicate fully with supervisor, project lead, team members, and others that have a need to know in a timely, effective manner
- Abide by corporate policies and quality system procedures
- Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner and contribute to safety and well being of self and others
- Assume responsibility for designs valued up to $500,000
- Train less experienced personnel on established methods and facilitate transfer of technical knowledge
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Demonstrated competency in design and use of engineering system tools
- Windows and C/C++ programming for Electrical Mechanical machine applications
- Familiar with electrical codes such as NFPA-79, NEC, and EC standards
- Familiar with branch circuit design

- 15% travel associated with the position
Education/Experience Required:
- 4 year electrical technical degree
- BSEE preferred, MSEE a Plus
- 5-10 years related experience in PLC
