Aquaflex PCMC, a designer and manufacturer of in-line presses, has announced that MPI Label Systems recently purchased the new ELS Max mid-range inline flexographic press.
“MPI was looking for a new press to support our growing unsupported beverage label film business – a press that could handle the challenges of running, controlling and laminating thin gauge films as well as laminating two films in-line using water-based adhesives. The PCMC press proved to be the best option on the market, allowing MPI to almost exclusively dedicate the new equipment to our film business,” says Matt Roberts, general manager, MPI Label Systems in Maryland. “The ability of the press to handle unsupported film, dry our environmentally friendly water-based inks at high speeds, and laminate with precise control over tension and temperature was unmatched in the market. PCMC is confident in their equipment and has successful past installations which gave MPI the confidence in PCMC’s ability to supply service as well as support our company and our markets.”
The ELS Max offers a full servo press in 24", 28" and 32" widths. Able to run up to 1000 FPM, the ELS Max offers all the features that are capable on wide web CI presses. This machine utilizes both plate and anilox sleeves, and PCMC’s own designed force loaded doctor blade chambers intended for fast, constant running with extended doctor blade life. According to the company, this press has combined the best technologies from both inline and wide web CI presses, resulting in a press that provides superior web handling and registration.
