BASF opens technical
center in Charlotte
BASF’s Printing Systems business
unit, a leader in photopolymer plates
and inks for the packaging industry,
has opened a technical center in Charlotte,
NC, to serve the North American
market.
“The Charlotte site strengthens our
global position as a major supplier to
the printing and packaging industries
by bringing BASF closer to its customers,”
says Michael Stumpp, group
vice president, colorants.
The center houses a full installation
of platemaking equipment for flexographic
and letterpress plates, as well
as a technical service laboratory for
plates and inks. The company produces
Nyloflex, Nyloprint, Nylograv,
Nylocoat, and Digiflex printing plates
for use in flexo, letterpress and
