New grants support industry education
The Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF) has approved six new grants for 2002, supporting a variety of projects designed to enhance industry education. The grants amount to $186,545.
North Carolina A&T State University was awarded a grant to offer a 12-week graphic arts process course, which is targeted to individuals already in the industry, as well as students, faculty, community college personnel, the unemployed, and others.
Other grant recipients include the Center for Technology Education at California State University, Los Angeles; Georgia Southern University; Ball State University; Clemson University, and Virginia Polytechnic and State University.
The GAERF was created in 1983 by the National Association of Printing Leadership, the Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies, and the Printing Industries of America. Details are available at www.npes.org/gaerf.
