Market trends and innovations in release technologies were the highlights of the 12th Annual Release Papers & Films Conference, held February 6-8 in Orlando, FL. Nearly 80 industry professionals attended the event, which was sponsored by Gorham International.
Jack Kenny, editor of Label & Narrow Web magazine, presented the keynote address: “Economic Challenges and Technological Advances in the Pressure Sensitive Converting Industry.”
Denny McGee, manager of national accounts for Mark Andy, gave an in-depth overview of the packaging industry, exploring global trends and markets.
Kenneth Schroeder, sales and marketing manager for Ahlstrom, outlined the scope of the traditional markets for release liners and discussed product innovations and emerging niches.
A presentation titled “Solutions for High Speed Silicone Coating Applications” was made by Lori Jones, associate industry scientist for Dow Corning. She addressed methods of combatting mist formation during the release application process.
