Artwork Systems wins FPPA innovation award
Artwork Systems Group, of Gent, Belgium, has received the 2002 Technical Innovator award from the Flexographic Prepress & Platemakers Association (FPPA).
The company, which manufactures professional prepress software, received the award for its Plate Cell Patterning technology. Plate cell patterns are cells in flexographic plates similar to cells in anilox rolls. Benefits are improved print quality and reduced ink consumption.
Bill Ceperich, Pitman Company VP and FPPA Awards chairman, presented the award at the opening session of the annual convention to Mark Samworth, Artwork Systems VP of technology. The awards committee, which looks for uniqueness and value in making its decision, determined that cell patterning is significantly different from traditional solid screening.
