RIT tests substrates
for Indigo presses
The Printing Applications Laboratory of the Rochester Institute of Technology is conducting tests of compatible substrates for the HP Indigo Press 3000.
The press, formerly the Indigo UltraStream 2000, is the latest generation of the company’s digital press.
“One of the advantages for consumers is the assurance that all approved substrates have undergone a stringent process that ensures total compatibility with their HP Indigo press,” says Rick Mangold, general manager of HP Indigo North America.
Once a substrate is approved, it is identified as certified and posted on the laboratory’s web site, which can be visited at www.printlab.rit.edu. Stocks already identified include those from Avery Dennison Fasson, Dunmore, Fraser Papers, International Paper, MeadWesvaco, Russell-Field, and Wausau Coated Products.
