Xaar finalizes deals
with ink companies
Inkjet technology specialist Xaar has extended an ink licensing deal with Avecia, which makes dye-based colorants, as well as UV-curable and oil based inks for inkjet applications. The business connection dates back to 1994 and has involved inks for Xaar’s piezo inkjet heads, which are made by its Swedish subsidiary. Two other ink deals involve Sericol Imaging, the global inkjet division of Sericol the screen process ink specialist, and SunJet the global inkjet division of Sun Chemical.
The Cambridge-based company’s next step is to extend this to high performance inks for new applications and materials based on its Leopard grayscale
