Sericol wins Queen’s award for innovation
Sericol, an ink manufacturer headquartered in Broadstairs, England, has been presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Outstanding Innovation category.
Queen Elizabeth II presents the awards to recognize companies that have demonstrated commercial success through innovative products or services.
This is the fifth Queen’s Award won by Sericol since 1988. The previous awards were presented for excellence in export, technological and environmental achievement. The latest award recognizes Sericol’s work in the development and commercialization of UV curing inkjet technology in wide format, flatbed digital, graphic printing.
“We are very pleased to receive this award as it confirms our leadership in this comparatively new but fast growing area of ink technology,” says Ed Carhart, CEO of Sericol International. “The printing industry continues to evolve and needs to constantly adopt new technology. We believe our new inkjet products will assist the industry in staying competitive and providing customers with new print solutions. This award also demonstrates the skills and excellence of the Sericol team worldwide.”
The Uvijet range of UV curing inkjet products are developed and manufactured at Sericol’s manufacturing complex in Broadstairs, Kent. Products are supplied to more than 80 countries. Sericol employs 1,200 people worldwide and also manufactures UV curing screen and flexo inks.
