MacDermid leaves A&V; BASF plates sign on
Anderson & Vreeland (A&V) has been named a distributor of BASF’s Nyloflex photopolymer printing plates in the US and Canada. The announcement, made in early August, was followed immediately by a statement by MacDermid Printing Solutions that A&V no longer will distribute its photopolymer printing plates.
For BASF, A&V will sell and provide technical support. The company, based in Bryan, OH, is a supplier of flexographic plate making equipment and materials to the graphic arts industry. BASF’s Nyloflex product line includes laser ablative and engravable digital plates and sleeves.
More information about the two companies is available on the Internet at www.andersonvreeland.com and at www.basf-printing-systems.com.
MacDermid, in its announcement, said it will “ensure that our customers experience a smooth transition in their source of MacDermid supply over the transition period.”
“In an ever competitive environment,” said Stephen Largan, president of MacDermid Incorporated, “we find that some customers prefer the advantage of working directly with the manufacturer of the products they use. Our focus is on supplying innovative products and world class technical service to our customers. This change puts us much closer to the users of our products.”
MacDermid is aligned with Enovation Graphic Systems, a division of FujiFilm, which currently represents MacDermid Printing Solutions plate products. For more information, call MacDermid at 800-348-7201. The web site is www.macdermid.com.
