A new label converting company, Century Solutions Inc., has been formed as an outgrowth of Century Marketing Corporation, Bowling Green, OH. The company specializes in short run labels and tags, shrink sleeves, and prototype products.
According to CEO Al Caperna, the unit had been printing and converting using flexographic presses and hot stamp equipment for three years. Then he and partner Greg Rogers invested in an HP Indigo press, and the company decided this year to spin the operation off as a separate business.
“We have found a number of niches,” Caperna says, “such as prototype labels, and the ability to do short run shrink sleeves. We have opened up a number of partnerships with national companies that have custom products, to where we are more of an arm of their manufacturing operations.”
The company’s specialty, he says, is short runs between 1,000 and 10,000 labels. Gourmet foods, health and beauty, and the candle market have been strong focuses.
