WS Packaging buys Promo

WS Packaging Group, a conglomerate of label and packaging manufacturing companies based in Algoma, WI, has purchased the assets of Promo Edge, a converting company located in Neenah, WI, from Menasha Corporation. Formerly known as Mid America Tag & Label, Promo Edge now is known as WS Packaging Group - Promo Edge.
According to Terry Fulwiler, chairman of WS Packaging, Promo Edge has been well known in the promotional products arena, “and is also very strong in primary labels, sweepstakes and the gaming segment of the printing industry.” It will be established as a “sister” facility to the Algoma label plant under the direction and management of Scott Fisher, VP of operations for the Midwest region of WS.
At the time of the acquisition in August, Promo Edge employed about 180 people and had annual sales close to $40 million a year, Fulwiler says. WS Packaging Group has a combined labor force of 1,400, and annual
