A new high-speed RFID inlay manufacturing process, a strap-attach-based process, produces high-quality tags at rates up to 10 times or more, depending on the type of tag being produced. It supplies RFID inlays in quantities needed to help meet increased anticipated demands. The development process incorporates advances in the handling of strap and antenna webs, strap transfer, and strap attachment. Avery Dennison RFID also anticipates the production of new EPC Class 1, Version 2 (or UHF Gen 2) tag designs later this year, utilizing the new high speed strap-attach manufacturing process.
