Under the WFLA banner, a decision to discontinue the group and to be governed by a new advisory committee was made in favor of a redesigned organizational structure within The Printing Industries of Northern California (PINC).
“The PINC is very excited about the opportunity to pick up where the NCLMA left off,” says Laura Vargas, key administrator. “The converting and flexible packaging industry in Northern California, Oregon, and Washington is a growing industry and we provide relevant programming and opportunities for the industry in this area to become a cohesive, vital group.”
The WFLA will provide programming geared specifically to the flexo industry through small-group web seminars, a semi-monthly version of eNews and a special flexo segment in the 2006 Buyers Guide. They will also hold vendor forums, meetings and an annual conference.
WFLA members will automatically be made PINC members and a resource team will ensure that education, savings through group purchasing, new sales opportunities and networking are met. Laura Vargas serves as the group’s key administrator. Malcolm Keif, professor at Cal Poly, is the group’s technical resource for programming and Joel Crockett provides memberships and sales counsel and advice to WFLA/PINC members.
