Scholarship honors Technicote founder
A scholarship fund has been established in the name of Dirk Desanzo, founder and first president of Technicote, Miamisburg, OH, USA. Desanzo died suddenly in March.
The fund provides a generous annual tuition award payable upon freshman enrollment in college, and will repeat for three successive years if the recipient achieves a mandated level of performance as verified by the college he or she attends. The Akron Community Foundation is the administrator of the fund.
The initial award will be for the academic year commencing in the fall of 2007. During the first award year, eligible high school graduates from 2004, 2005 and 2006 who are currently enrolled in an eligible college program will be considered for annual awards for the years remaining in their degree programs for a total of four years.
