Harper’s Road Show visits six US cities
Harper GraphicSolutions, the technical service division of anilox supplier Harper Corporation, launched its 2007 Flexographic Solutions Tour in February. Industry experts join the Harper team for a series of free one-day seminars that focus on troubleshooting prepress and print problems, and cover the latest trends to improve print quality and press efficiency.
The company’s 2006 road shows averaged more than 70 attendees at each, says Alexander James, technical graphics manager, because topics were expanded beyond anilox rolls to include press-side troubleshooting. A total of 506 participants attended Harper’s seven 2006 seminars, which took place in the United States and Canada.
Sessions are designed for print managers; print supervisors; pre-press managers; graphic designers; ink, plate and pre-press suppliers; and purchasing and/or general managers. Specific seminars will vary by region, but sample topics include: troubleshooting diecutting issues, press inputs, prepress practices to control color management, producing predictable and reproducible flexo, rotary die selection and operations, ink handling for paper and film, analog vs. digital plate operation, and how substrates affect the printing process.
The remainder of this year’s seminars, all in the US, are scheduled as follows: Columbus, OH, March 28; Philadelphia, PA, April 11; Chicago, May 17; Atlanta, GA, June 21. Specific locations are included in L&NW’s calendar of industry events.
There is no charge for the one-day seminars, and businesses may send an unlimited number of staff members. Timely registration is recommended due to limited seating.
