Taylor Label gains
FSC certification
Taylor Label, a manufacturer of stock, bar coded and printed labels, has recently earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification and is the first label producer in North America to do so. As the winner of a Gold “Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada” award at the Environmental Print Awards, Taylor Label sought out FSC-certification as part of its quest to “green” the label industry.
The FSC is an international, non-profit organization whose mission is to support the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. The purchase of FSC-certified products protects forests, wildlife habitat and waterways.
Antony Marcil, president and CEO of FSC Canada congratulated Taylor Label. “As far as we know, there is no other FSC-certified labelstock available in North America and maybe not in Europe either. Your willingness to create this brand new product ‘on spec’ is a great step forward. The only gap left was labelstock and now Taylor Label has stepped up to the plate and filled that void.”
Taylor Label says its FSC certification is an important plank in a company-wide platform that is committed to green raw materials, 100 percent green production energy and green product delivery.
“Taylor Label’s goal is to provide label products that protect the planet without a price premium,” says Marcil.
