LGI expands further
into Asian markets
LGInternational (LGI), a label manufacturer based in Portland, OR, USA, reports that it has signed an agreement to acquire United Colours, a Malaysian manufacturer of labels and diecut components.
United Colours was incorporated in 1995 and manufactures labels, gaskets, thermal pads, and insulators for electronics, controlled environments and consumer goods. The majority of United Colours customers are located in Malaysia and throughout other parts of Asia.
The acquisition marks LGI’s second strategic move into Asia. United Colours will join Wuxi, China, as the second Asia facility operating under LGI’s international division, LGI Technology. “We feel fortunate to be adding United Colours to further expand our presence in Asia,” says Mike Martin, president of LGI. “The depth of knowledge and capabilities of this operation will be particularly invaluable to our current and future customers in Southeast Asia.”
LGInternational develops advanced labeling solutions for markets that include semiconductor, storage media, life sciences, and electronics. Established in 1978, the company’s products are used for applications such as product identification and decoration, product assembly, product packaging and security.
