Barry Sanel forms packaging consultancy
Barry Sanel, a printing and packaging executive with more than 20 years of industry experience, has launched Barry Sanel Packaging Advisors, a consulting services firm dedicated to the packaging industry. Among the consultative services the new firm will offer are agency selection, design direction and management, packaging innovation and sustainability initiatives, cost reduction, process and budget control, printer selection, press approvals and color management.
Sanel’s industry experience includes his most recent post as packaging manager at Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages, where he managed packaging for such premium brands as Mott’s, Nantucket Nectars, Mistic Iced Tea, Orangina, Orange Crush, ReaLemon, IBC, Stewart’s Root Beer and Yoo-Hoo chocolate beverage drink. During his tenure at Cadbury Schweppes, Sanel was responsible for hiring design agencies, giving design direction, budgeting and execution for re-branding and product line strategy campaigns, as well as ensuring compliance with all food labeling regulations in North America. His expertise includes primary, secondary and tertiary packaging development.
“In my years within the packaging industry, I have seen so many jobs go over budget or get delayed because of press problems that began in the design phase,” Sanel says. “I realized that many companies need a packaging specialist who can help them prevent these losses, but don’t have the budget for a full-time staff member. This became the catalyst for my idea to be available for outsourcing. I have also seen otherwise very talented brand managers, art directors and designers go on press with little or no printing experience, and create major delays because they don’t understand the process. I have the printing and marketing skills to bridge this gap.”
Barry Sanel Packaging Advisors is based in Carmel, NY, USA. Contact Sanel at 845-228-5556 or barry@
