Vendors donate to Clemson institute
Among the many donors to Clemson University’s new Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics are two companies whose products are well known in the narrow web industry: Harper Corporation of America and Environmental Inks & Coatings (EIC).
Harper has contributed to the institute’s stock of anilox rolls, proofing tools, maintenance and storage equipment, as well as pressroom cleaning supplies. “We’re proud to be associated with this world-class institute,” says Margie Harper Kluttz, president of Harper. “With this program’s multi-pronged approach, Clemson is taking a truly leading role in shaping the future of the printing and packaging industries. It’s our pleasure to help provide resources for these students.”
Environmental Inks and Coatings’ Development Laboratory is located in the new Harris A. Smith Building, which houses the institute. “EIC could not pass up the opportunity to be affiliated with such a progressive program,” says Paul Schroeder, CEO.” We felt that the venue at Clemson was a natural fit with our emphasis on sustainability, innovation and education.”
The Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics combines packaging science, graphic communication, materials studies, environmental science, manufacturing, marketing and consumer psychology for application to packaging methods.
