Polyonics has designed two new polyester label materials to adhere to smooth and textured LSE plastics, such as polypropylene, polyethylene or TPO, which are commonly found in the automotive industry. The XF-455 is an opaque, 2 mil gloss white polyester film coated with a 1 mil low surface energy acrylic adhesive designed for flexographic or thermal transfer printing. This material is designed to adhere to smooth plastics and resist harsh environments. The XF-456 is an opaque, 4 mil gloss white polyester film coated with a 3 mil low surface energy acrylic adhesive designed for flexographic and thermal transfer printing. The low surface energy on this product is intended to be utilized where the label needs to adhere to very rough, textured plastics.  Applications include parts identification, rating plates, tracking/warning labels, and engine blocks, among others.
