Wise has announced the acquisition of Phoenix Data, a Montgomery, PA-based company that prints business forms and offers associated services. Phoenix Data sells through independent distributors, primarily in the Eastern United States, making the move a natural complement to Wise’s existing business.
Wise manufacturers traditional forms, industrial/prime labels and tags, and digitally printed products and services for resale only. Its core business is primarily focused on relationships with independent business forms distributors, tailoring its offerings to meet their individual needs.
Wise’s customer-centric approach to business means that Phoenix Data customers will still experience the same level of customer support and care that they are used to. Wise’s broader range of capabilities, however, also gives them access to additional services. These include prime and industrial labels, digital web-to-print programs for large clients, short-run digitally printed labels, personalized and hyper-customized labels, and Mosaic designs for short- and long-run labels.
Larry Lovell, former Phoenix Data president, will continue with Wise to assist with the transition of business.
Bill Prettyman, chief executive officer and president of Wise, states, “We are incredibly pleased to add Phoenix Data’s offering and their customers to the Wise family. We look forward to serving and taking care of Phoenix Data’s customers, including offering them cutting-edge label and digital printing services they might not previously had access to.”
The move comes shortly after the acquisition of Charlotte, NC-based Mini Data Forms, which is a short- to medium-run print manufacturer providing checks and forms to the trade. The acquisition took place on February 29, 2024. Any orders placed subsequent to that date have been manufactured at Wise’s Alpharetta, GA plant.
“I carefully selected Wise due to their extensive track record of supporting distributors and fostering business growth,” notes Darren Van Cleve, president of Mini Data Forms. “We are confident that this transition will not only maintain but enhance the level of service and quality our customers have come to expect.
Founded in 1969, Wise has four regional forms production facilities (Georgia, Indiana, Maine, and Pennsylvania) and two industrial/prime labels and tags production facilities (Indiana and South Carolina) serving the Eastern half of the United States.
