Loparex Group has announced new investment in the expansion of its joint venture operation in India. The expansion program will increase Kaygee-Loparex’s production capacity and enable better customer service in the domestic Indian market as well as African and Middle Eastern markets.
Kaygee-Loparex India Pvt. Ltd. is a 50/50 joint venture between Loparex Group and the Godha family since 2001. The production unit is located in Silvassa, some 180 kilometers north of Mumbai. Kaygee-Loparex manufactures siliconized release paper and films for self-adhesive labelstock, holograms, tattoos, double-sided tapes, feminine hygiene products, medical products, packaging, and many other end uses. The substrate range is wide and several different silicone types and curing methods are available. The company is the South Asian region market leader.
“We have decided to expand our production capacity in India in order to better satisfy our customers’ needs in this region especially in thinner paper and film grades,” says Pentti Kallio, Loparex Group CEO. “This expansion program will include the installation of new production lines and auxiliary equipment. Also, the plant premises in Silvassa will be expanded in order to accommodate the new machinery.” The new equipment is planned to be operational by early 2009.
