Jim Lundquist has been named president of Smyth Companies, a label converter with headquarters in St. Paul, MN, USA.
Lundquist has been with Smyth since 2005, having originally been charged with developing strategy to help the company operate more efficiently and become more profitable. According to CEO John Hickey, Lundquist successfully steered Smyth through a major phase of this strategy in 2006; the consolidation of Smyth’s sheet-fed printing operations into two production facilities.
Most recently, Lundquist has been instrumental in the sale of Smyth’s Snap! package division to Tapemark, as well as formulating plans for the future growth and financial well-being of Smyth Companies.
“Jim Lundquist is an important reason Smyth has remained one of the largest and most respected label printers in the business,” says Hickey. “His stewardship of the company during a very tumultuous time in the industry has put us on a very solid footing financially, and has created an organization better able to serve our customers.”
With the promotion of Lundquist, the Smyth executive management team consists of John Hickey, CEO; Jim Lundquist, president; Bill Hickey, owner director; Dan Hickey, owner director; Dave Baumgardner, CFO; John Olivanti, EVP sales and marketing; Bill Weernink, EVP operations; and Steve Yokanovich, VP IT.
Smyth is one of the largest label producers in the U.S. In addition to package labels and P.O.P. displays, Smyth produces in-pack and on-pack promotional labels and application equipment. The company operates seven production facilities located in Minnesota, Virginia, and Colorado, and employs approximately 380 people.
