With the introduction of its newest digital UV inkjet color press, the Jetrion 4830, EFI has announced a program for users of the Jetrion 4000 to upgrade to the new model any time during the first year after installation. The program offers an affordable entry point for companies taking their first steps in digital label production while still offering them the option, as business grows, to upgrade to the full productivity and width of the newer 4830 model, according to the company.
The new model has a wider web width and faster speed – up to 8.3 inches wide (21 cm) and 120 feet per minute (36.6 meters per minute). In addition, the press also will print a UV curable white inkjet ink, described by EFI Jetrion’s VP Kenneth Stack as “the first single-pass white with opacity rivaling flexo.” The new white can be printed as a background color for CMYK overprinting.
US label converter Richard Shaieb, CEO of Whitlam Label, is the first North American purchaser of the Jetrion 4830, and is attending Labelexpo Europe. “Purchasing this latest technology will help further strengthen our customer relationships and give us the ability to capitalize on new market opportunities,” Shaieb said. “For several years, we have been committed to working with EFI and we value their technology and overall customer service.”
EFI has also introduced a new version, 4.0, of its Fiery XF color management software. It now offers one-click spot color matching.
