Pulse Roll Label Products has made a significant investment this year in new labeling and safety data sheet (SDS) software in response to forthcoming changes in chemical labeling legislation.
Earlier in the year, the narrow web ink and varnish manufacturer invested in both software and hardware for the new Lisam ExESS to give its customers plenty of time to ask questions and understand the new system.
The new EU legislation on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures – CLP Regulation (European Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008) - Classification, Labelling and Packaging – has been designed to ensure consistent and clear communication throughout the supply chain.
“We intend to launch our newly designed labels and CLP compliant SDSs on January 1, 2015 and will be communicating directly with our customers prior to this, to remind them of the forthcoming chemical labelling legislation changes and explain how this will impact them,” says Chris Price, product manager at Pulse Roll Label Products.
Pulse Roll Label Products will use its remaining stock, along with existing labels, prior to the new labelling and CLP compliant format, which the company will fully implement in line with the June 1, 2015 deadline. New safety data sheets and labels will also be available shortly in multi-language formats.
