FlexStr8, Inc. has released a smart label solution allowing high quality full color graphics with integrated Near Field Communications (NFC) programming capabilities. The system consists of an Epson ColorWorks C3500 Color Label Printer, a FlexStr8 snap on encoder, FlexStr8 NFC label software, and FlexStr8 NFC labels.
The Epson TM-C3500 is a high speed, high quality color label printer that uses pigment ink, rather than dye-based ink. This allows the printer to create colorful, long-lasting labels that dry quickly and are smudge, water and fade resistant. The FlexStr8 encoder snaps on the front of the printer. Installation is simple and quick. The encoder is controlled by the FlexStr8 Label software, synchronizing the printing of graphics and encoding of NFC chips on the Flexstr8 labels.
The FlexStr8 NFC labels have an inkjet receptive high gloss surface optimizing the color gamut of the inks. The NFC antenna size has been maximized to increase read consistency and tag detection. The internal NFC chip is a NXP Ntag203. FlexStr8 NFC labels support a wide range of NDEF and Non-NDEF record types. The snap on encoder encodes both non-NDEF messages as well as NDEF records, such as URL, vCard, Phone number, and SMS, on the fly. Users can access databases and applications from the cloud by tapping their NFC enabled phones on our smart labels.
FlexStr8 Smart Label Solution integrates with Seagull Scientific’s BarTender, a label printing and barcode software.
Designed for a range of manufacturing, chemical, healthcare, retail, and event industries, the FlexStr8 Smart Label Solution allows businesses to create their own NFC labels on-demand in-house.
