Visitors representing label printers and raw material suppliers met at ETI Converting headquarters in Boucherville, QC, Canada, to participate in an Open House. As part of what the company termed a “successful event,” it launched the Mini-Cohesio equipped with a JFlex Digital Print System. The unit also included a Pellicut, which is a high speed rotary diecutting system for thin liners.
ETI ran a job combining two printing processes, flexo and digital, on 4 mil high gloss paper. The hot melt adhesive and the silicone were applied on an 18 micron PET liner, then diecut with the Pellicut technology. All operations were done inline at a speed of 275 fpm (84 mpm) with a printing of 14 micron dots at 1600 x 1375 dpi.
Maxime Bayzelon, president of ETI Converting and Judd Quimby, VP, Business Development at Memjet, handled presentations to explain this concept and the advantages of the inline digital inkjet printer and label production platform. There was also a demo on a 22’ Cohesio equipped with an ETI Turret Rewinder for the production of small rolls of blank labels. The company will showcase this equipment at Labelexpo Europe from September 29-October 2.
