Polytex has announced the development of 7.4128 flexo primer for HP Indigo. 7.4128 is designed to make conventional substrates receptive to the HP Indigo print process.
According to the company, this new primer provides a receptive surface that will enable high-fidelity HP Indigo imprinting with minimal dot gain, excellent trap values, and strong, vibrant colors. In addition to facilitating excellent print characteristics, 7.4128 provides a bonding agent between the ink and the substrate. In particular, films like BOPP can be used with no worries about adhesion issues like scratching and scuffing.
The product also provides product resistant characteristics — such as resistance to water, alcohol, mild detergents and so on — on par with conventionally printed inks. The primer is receptive to laminating films and overprint varnishes.
Polytex says in-house substrate conversion provides a more economical way to realize profits than buying HP Indigo-specific substrates.
As a global leader in environmentally sound and sensible inks, Polytex is now expanding and preparing to offer an even more comprehensive suite of printing industry products, in addition to the water-soluble and energy-curable inks that the company has already pioneered.
