On December 15, 2015, The Label Printers was presented with a plaque for 20 years of ISO certification from ISO registrar, DQS, Inc. The Label Printers is one of the largest suppliers of UL labels in the world and one of the 100 largest converters in the United States.
The company understood the long-term value of ISO registration to their customers, and therefore to their business, registering originally to ISO 9002:1994. TLP has maintained its registration through the updates to the ISO standard over the 20 years since then.
“We chose to pursue ISO 20 years ago because of our longstanding relationship with UL but also because we knew it was something that was going to become a requirement of many of our customers and a marketing tool for many prospective customers," says Bill Kane, chief executive of The Label Printers. “It was our pleasure to accept the award from DQS on behalf of all of our employees and to celebrate 20 years of ISO registration.”
Diane Nehring, who is retiring after 28 years of service to TLP, was the company’s quality manager for many years. “Bill made a good decision to become ISO registered before we were asked to do it," she explains. "Every three years the whole system was audited for recertification, and twice every year we went through a surveillance process. It’s a rigorous program and good for our company.”
TLP’s current quality manager Gina Ries echoes Nehring’s sentiments. “Our new ISO update is our third version, and we’re proud to have maintained our registration through the updates to the ISO standard over the years. It’s a good program for the company and for our customers.”
