Henkel, a leading solution provider for adhesives, sealants and functional coatings, will use its platform “Food Safe Packaging Portal” to host two webinars imparting crucial industry knowledge on basic food safety topics. The topics will include “Basics in Migration – Adhesives in Food Packaging” and “Ways to Improve Food Safety.”
On April 29, 2016, at 10:00 AM CEST, Henkel expert Andre Weiss, head of Lab Analytical Instruments, will speak about “Basics in Migration – Adhesives in Food Packaging." In his webinar, he will talk about what migration means and how it occurs. Another important topic will be the measurement and evaluation of migration. Furthermore, he will discuss the role adhesives play in migration.
In “Ways to Improve Food Safety”on May 11, 2016, at 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM CEST, Monika Tönnießen, manager of Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs, will go into more detail on migration in her webinar. There are several factors that may influence migration such as the amount of adhesive applied, the structure of the packaging, the type of filled good, the storage time and more. By being aware of these factors, the entire food industry can easily contribute to reducing migration risks at each production stage.
The live webinars focus on important issues surrounding food packaging safety. Participants will also be able to pose their questions live to the Henkel presenters during the webinars. Those interested in participating can register at www.henkel.com/foodsafety. Once they have registered, they will also gain access to the Premium Area, which offers further webinars, white papers, a FAQ section, and videos covering a range of key issues. Henkel also provides a short introductory video for the webinar “Ways to Improve Food Safety" here.
