Weber Packaging Solutions has purchased a new Mark Andy Performance Series P5 17" 8-color label press outfitted for both UV and water-based ink capabilities. This new label press will allow Weber to print custom color labels more efficiently with less waste and faster setup times. It will also increase printing capacity to handle the ever increasing work loads.
The P5 is designed for quick-change print and die setups to aid in streamlined series job change-overs. It will run at a higher speed than most of Weber's current presses and will produce less waste, making it a much more efficient press. Additional capabilities include a rail system over the print stations, which includes a turnbar for back-print and a rail mounted cold foil unwind and waste wind up for cold foil applications.
The new P5 is expected to improve Weber's printing process for series jobs, and at the same time increase overall capacity with increased production throughput with this new resource. Weber is continually trying to improve label quality and printing lead times by making investments in the latest technology for our industry.
