Wesley K. “Andy” Anderson, 96, co-founder of Anderson & Vreeland, Inc., passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Crane’s Mill In West Caldwell, NJ.
Born in New York City, Anderson lived in North Caldwell, NJ and Essex Fells for most of his life before retiring in 2004 to North Palm Beach, Florida. He co-founded Anderson & Vreeland, Inc., in 1961 with his friend from Williamson & Co., Howard Vreeland, where they worked together building a lifelong friendship and successful business relationship. From its humble beginnings, Anderson & Vreeland has grown to become a global provider of flexographic printing and prepress solutions for the label, packaging and graphic arts industries.
“My father’s love for the company was so strong that he often remarked that his biggest regret was retiring from it at age 80,” says his son, Joe Anderson.
Anderson was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne Anderson for 67 years, and was very proud of his 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Ippolito-Dancy Funeral Home, 9 Smull Avenue, Caldwell, NJ, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 271 Roseland Avenue, Essex Fells, NJ, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016.
