Expera Coated Products has announced that it is adding a new asset to its production capabilities. The company, which was formed in 2013 when KPS Capital Partners purchased Thilmany Papers and Wausau Specialty Papers to form Expera Specialty Solutions, is adding a state-of-the-art coater that will provide a much-needed increment of capacity to the business in order to support customer growth.
“We are very excited about this next step for Expera,” comments Harry Challender, VP of Expera Coated Products. “The design of the coater brings us a new level of flexibility and efficiency. Locating the coater in a new facility in Rhinelander, Wisconsin ensures that we can leverage the expertise that already exists at our current facility. The new line’s unique capabilities will allow us to continue to develop tailored solutions for our customers.”
Expera Specialty Solutions, parent company to Expera Coated Products, will be providing much of the base paper for this new coater. "These high performance base papers combined with a unique set of coatings gives Expera Coated Products the ability to develop customer solutions in demanding and difficult applications," Challender adds.
Production on the new coater will begin midyear 2017.
