With a keynote presentation from Mintel’s Global Packaging Director David Luttenberger, there can be no doubt that this year’s AWA IMLCON & IMDCON conference will be strongly focused on the widening market for in-mold labeling and product decoration. To be held May 18-19 in Washington DC, the conference is the industry’s only totally-dedicated event, and a "must attend" option for all concerned in the in-mold product decoration value chain, AWA says. Headquartered in the Netherlands and with offices in Chicago and Thailand, AWA Alexander Watson Associates is a market research firm dedicated to the global label, packaging and associated industries.
Market profiles
Luttenberger will give his views on "What’s up next?" in terms of trends in food packaging – a key focus in the IML arena. His presentation follows a real-time IML/IMD industry survey conducted with delegates, and the presentation of the results, as well as an overview of the broad labeling market presented by AWA President and CEO Corey Reardon.
Technology innovations
Innovations, from the TruVue plastic can to Xeikon digital printing technology, will make up a wide spectrum of supplier presentations. There will also be concurrent in-depth sessions on in-mold labeling and in-mold decorating, and a financier’s view of global consolidation in packaging and labels from Thomas Blaige of Blaige & Company.
Leadership and innovation awards
The event also features the announcement and presentation of the AWA IML Leadership and Innovation Award 2017 to the winner. Last year’s award went to a well-known and respected industry commentator and writer, Clare Goldsberry.
Complementary exhibition
Partnered by a supplier tabletop exhibition and extensive networking opportunities for participants, AWA IMLCON & IMDCON is sponsored by leading companies in the industry – platinum sponsors Yupo Corporation and gold sponsors ADS, Sonoco, Taghleef Industries, Treofan and Xeikon. Full details of the program are available on the AWA website, www.awa-bv.com, where it is also possible to register for the event online.
