The modification to the MicroTip design doubles the tip’s stiffness at the contact point to further enhance metering precision on high line screen anilox rolls. An improvement to the manufacturing process also produces a smoother contact edge, eliminating start-up lines which have plagued non-metallic doctor blade users for years.
Early lab and field testing has yielded positive results, and the company says it is excited to share its latest doctor blade innovation with the European label printing market.
An adaptation of the lamella, MicroTip combined with next generation polymer material offers tag and label printers more effective metering at higher line screens than traditional polymer blades. Last year, the company announced new configurations that allow printers to select a customized blade thickness and MicroTip combination to optimize performance and doctor blade life in their specific applications.
