Brother Mobile Solutions has announced the availability of its P-touch EDGE PT-E550WCM “Camo,” a limited edition industrial label printer featuring an all new camouflage housing design. With wireless connectivity and top-of-the-line functionality, the handheld PT-E550W model is designed to create professional dual laminated labels quickly and easily, directly from the user’s smartphone or tablet.
The new Camo version is available for a limited time only. The EDGE PT-E550W is the first wireless labeling tool to feature a customized exterior wrap that makes it easy for installers to keep track of their labeler, whether on or off the job, the company says. Designed from the ground up as a powerful, wireless, cloud enabled labeler, the PT-E550W is the labeling tool used by contractors and installers of larger, complex datacom infrastructure installations.
Duane Yamashita, senior product manager for the P-touch EDGE industrial labeling line, says, “We are excited to add an element of personalization and fun to the installers’ toolkit. This powerful, feature-rich labeler is one of our best sellers because it’s so simple to use – but now it might just be impossible to lose.”
“The distinctive new Camo design will appeal to a sizeable slice of our user base, which includes sportsmen and sportswomen across the industry, including professional field installers of data communications, electrical, security, and audiovisual infrastructure systems. In addition, it will catch the eye of mobile workers in warehousing, transportation and distribution ‒ especially those who are military veterans and outdoor sports enthusiasts such as hunters, hikers, climbers and bikers.”
An important feature of the PT-E550WCM is that it integrates with the award-winning LabelLink application. The LabelLink app, co-developed by Brother and Fluke Networks, seamlessly integrates the label printer with Fluke’s LinkWare Live API to allow the testing data to be accessed wirelessly and sent to the labeler. The ramification is that there is no duplication of effort when it comes time to label the project – the testing data can be accessed and used to generate the labels for cable and components.
“The LabelLink App – compatible with both iOS and Android devices – has become hugely popular because it can cut costs while increasing workflow efficiency, project quality, and testing accuracy in large cabling installations," explains Ravi Panjwani, vice president of marketing and product management. "It helps provide a solid foundation for an effective cable management program once the system has been certified. With such an abundance of features and functions, we believe the Brother PT-E550WCM Camomodel is sure to be a winner, as well.”
The Brother PT-E550WCM prints standards-compliant labels of various types, 3mm to 24mm wide, and is further differentiated by a dual-blade auto-cutter for easy-peel label strips. The ergonomically designed device provides installation work crews with increased comfort, convenience and functionality while labeling at the job site.
With built-in templates, files and databases instantly available via 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity, the PT-E550WCM helps speed up productivity by generating clear, accurate, long-lasting labels on-demand for wires, cables, faceplates, patch cords and other network or industrial system components.
