Contiweb has announced the enlargement of its EMEA sales team as part of an ongoing strategy of diversification and expansion, from the company’s traditional heat-set web offset market into digital inkjet, and packaging and label segments. The new sales team has been in effect since January 1, 2018.
Contiweb’s sales team will be led by Rutger Jansen, sales director, who has supported sales for the company since 1990, including director of sales and service under Goss Contiweb.

Sales channels throughout the rest of the world will remain unchanged.
“With the growing trend and customer demand for personalization and customization, technological developments in different sectors, and the consolidation of printing companies around the world, the borders between markets are becoming less distinct and have started to overlap," says Bert Schoonderbeek, managing director, Contiweb. “This is the perfect time to revitalize our operations and ensure we communicate the incredible opportunities that Contiweb products offer to print operators of all sizes. We hope this will give our customers throughout EMEA and around the world a clear point of contact for our team. These changes will also empower us to compete in the markets that will drive growth and serve customers to their best advantage.”
In addition to the reinforced sales team, and as a further testament to their investment in labels and packaging, Rien van Tetering will join the team as process manager for Contiweb Thallo. Bringing over 35 years of experience and expertise in flexible packaging, van Tetering will work closely with the sales team to meet Contiweb’s goals and will be a valuable asset to the team, positioned to advise customers with product expertise and more importantly, supporting customers with the smooth implementation of new technologies.
With a complete ancillary offering in heatset web offset, Contiweb has been developing ancillaries for digital inkjet web production since 2014. In collaboration with HP, Contiweb launched a series of unwinder/splicers and rewinders at drupa 2016, designed to be entirely modular to provide customers with an easy path to full automation at either end of the press line. As part of a strategic partnership with DG press ServiceS, Contiweb acquired the intellectual property (IP) of the Thallo web offset packaging press, which has been sold worldwide. The Contiweb Thallo accommodates flexo, gravure or digital units for hybrid configurations that maximize flexibility and efficiency for packaging producers.
