Melbourne, Derbyshire, UK-based Positive ID Labels has added another printing press to its equipment lineup as a result of the acquisition of Limbus Labels of Tiverton, Devon, UK. The addition of the MPS EB370 printing press owned by Limbus Labels was installed at the group headquarters in Derbyshire on March 19, 2018. The merger also increases group turnover by 25% to over £2m per annum and management of the two companies will join forces.
Agreed in February by John Mayers of Positive ID Labels and Hank Arnold of Limbus Labels, customer disruption will be negligible, the company says. Hank Arnold, former owner of Limbus Labels will stay on for at least 12 months as part of the acquisition, ensuring continuity of service and quality for his customers. The acquisition will also increase the group sales of Positive ID Labels by around £400k to over £2m per year and move the company’s printing capabilities into the premier league in terms of quality.
Limbus Labels has grown on a platform of the highest possible printing standards, delivered by its MPS EB370 printing press. "In layman’s terms, it is a Rolls-Royce flexographic printing press used to supply the likes of Morrison’s Supermarkets and Jamie Oliver," says John Mayers of Positive ID Labels. "Meanwhile, Positive ID Labels have been seeking sales growth and quality improvements. The acquisition and merger of the two companies made the best of all objectives.
Mayers concludes: “We have been keen to improve the quality of labels we can produce for our customers in this very competitive and vibrant market. We have been keen to grow our sales book too. The customer base and the MPS EB370 press deliver on both those objectives and make a perfect fit for our business strategy. The addition of having Hank join us in taking the company forward is the icing on the cake.”
Customers of both companies will be unaffected by the changes. Limbus Labels customers can continue to deal directly with Hank Arnold while Positive ID Labels customers will be offered higher quality products by their account managers in the near future, thus taking advantages of the new MPS press.
