Xpress Labels, a converter based in India, has installed a Grafisk Maskinfabrik DC330MINIflex dual varnish label finisher as an all-in-one finishing solution for its HP Indigo press. Xpress Labels made the final decision to invest in GM at Labelexpo Europe 2019 in Brussels, Belgium.
According to the team's study, the label business has significant potential and Xpress Labels wanted to better handle this growing segment.
Renil Thomas, managing director of Xpress Labels, says, "Brands in FMCGs, consumer market, pharma, healthcare and textile industries of today’s world are trying hard to create or maintain a unique identity. We see labels playing a large role when it comes to branding and packaged products. The main reason for entering the labels business and not carton or flexible packaging is the ease of managing the operation."
The installed configuration of the DC330MINIflex provides two UV flexo varnish stations with spot varnish, cold foil, semi-rotary diecutting, back score, slitting and a semi-automatic turret rewinder on a compact platform, giving a wide range of finishing capabilities.
The DC330MINIflex installation was implemented in cooperation with GM's distributor in India – Printronics, which is managed by Selvaraj Venkatesh. Printronics is a professional equipment dealer and consultant in the printing and packaging segment, with a collective experience of over 90 years in facilitating services in narrow and mid-web flexo press, narrow web and sheetfed digital press, prepress hardware and software for flexo and offset applications.
