“We wanted to create a special event and show our support for users of the INX Color Catalog,” explains Renee Schouten, director of marketing for INX International Ink Co. “We are tremendously pleased to acknowledge that over 200 beverage brands, breweries, can makers, design agencies and other beverage marketers now rely on the only true color standard in the metal decorating industry. We intend to make the Can Design contest an annual event to give brand owners and designers the opportunity to showcase their best designs.”
Interest in the INX Color Catalog continues to soar, the company says. In addition to a more efficient design-to-market process – ranging from color selection to getting product on the shelf – there are cost saving benefits, brand consistency, speed-to-market and color accuracy considerations. The Color Catalog is shceduled to be updated this spring, adding more options to the 600 plus removable metal color swatches that are currently available.
The contest details and rules are simple. Can design entries are being accepted until March 31, 2020, and entries must be for a commercially available product that was designed from January 1 - December 31, 2019. Open only to individuals who used the INX Color Catalog in the design of the can, the submitted design must contain a minimum of two colors from the INX Color Perfection library. Only one entry is allowed per brand owner/designer.
A panel of INX judges will determine the five semi-finalists and those designs will be made available on the INX Facebook page. Public voting will take place from April 6-13 and the winner will be announced on April 14.
