TLMI has announced that the association’s Annual Awards Competition has kicked off, and all converter members are invited to submit entries for this year’s judging session. Each year, narrow web converters from around the globe submit hundreds of entries and winners are announced in October at the TLMI Annual Meeting.
The TLMI Annual Awards Competition honors best-in-class package printing in a range of print process categories, including flexography, letterpress, offset, multi-process printing and digital.
The non-pressure sensitive categories of unsupported roll labels and cut & stack are also represented. A panel of 15 judges, each representing a different TLMI supplier member or educational institution, unite to closely examine each year’s submissions to ultimately award multiple Best in Class Entries and one Best in Show.
Paul Teachout, TLMI Judging Committee chair, comments, “Each year, the Awards submissions show how TLMI’s converter and supplier members are taking advantage of new technologies. From highest definition screening techniques to multi-process applications, the labels are becoming more and more complex every year. Our judges are continually challenged to analyze every aspect of every entry and I truly believe that each year we see the ‘best of the best’ in our constantly evolving and dynamic industry.”
Dan Muenzer, TLMI president, says, “Winning one of these awards gives converters a tremendous tool to have in their marketing arsenal, and our winners are constantly reporting the messaging value these awards offer. Now more than ever, it’s time for TLMI to celebrate the creative and innovative work of its membership. Many association awards competitions have been canceled this year due to COVID-19, however, I’m thrilled to announce that TLMI has made the decision to press forward with our own. Judging will be over the summer and if necessary, we can ensure each of our judges receive comprehensive submissions packets for their review. I’m excited to see what this year’s competition will bring and to continue to offer this unique opportunity to the association’s members.”
