Three Gallus Labelmaster installations have taken place in the Czech Republic over the last year. One Gallus Labelmaster each has been newly installed in the printing houses OTK Group, Colognia Press, and Králíček s. r. o. For each printing house the machine has been installed in different configuration, highlighting the Labelmaster's modularity and flexibility.
Gallus Labelmaster hit the market in 2016. The Czech Republic presses are seen in versions of eight to 10 flexographic printing units, with the combination of UV and hot-air drying system, printing on glue, cold foil and diecutting. The main benefits of the machine are speed, reliability, simplicity and flexibility, the companies note. The Labelmaster offers high productivity at an excellent cost-efficiency ratio. In the last year since these installations, the three Czech customers report success.
The flexographic printing house Králíček s.r.o., with about 40 employees, has been concentrating on self-adhesive labels since the beginning, making them approximately 95% of their production. By moving the company into a new, modern place, the Gallus Labelmaster 340 machine was installed in Hlubočinka, Sulice near Prague in spring 2019 as the first installation of a Labelmaster in the Czech Republic ever. The configuration has a printing width of 340 mm and eight flexo printing units in total, including printing on glue, cold foil and a diecutting unit.
“The first machine we got from Gallus was the one that enabled us to get to a higher level of label printing," concludes Petr Králíček, owner of Králíček s. r. o.
The history of Kolín-based OTK started in 1879. At the beginning of the new millennium the first phase of the new investment program took place, especially in the technology area for flexible packaging and self-adhesive and graphic arts labels. The company invested in a UV flexographic press Gallus Labelmaster 440, which was installed at the beginning of May 2019. The press with 440 mm printing width with a configuration of nine flexographic printing units, two diecutting units, printing on glue, cold foil and UV drying system. The new press is not the first Gallus machine in this printing house, either. OTK Group already runs several machines of the Gallus EM model line.
“In the past years we have invested in modernization and capacity increase of narrow web machines. Following the purchase of two EM model line Gallus machines, Gallus Labelmaster was an obvious choice. This machine allows us to print all product groups from the OTK Group portfolio, moreover the new technologies significantly increase production productivity," says Tomáš Latinák, business unit director OTK Group.
Meanwhile, Colognia Press, which is focused on the production of special packaging and labels (self-adhesive labels, safety, peel-off and smart labels, clear blank labels, Braille labels, graphic arts labels, shrink sleeves, etc.) turned to Gallus for a Labelmaster press with the highest possible configuration: the printing width of 440 mm, 10 flexographic printing units, hot foil and cold foil unit, non-stop unwinder and rewinder (Martin Automatic), 100% inspection, printing on glue, two exchangeable flexo units, two diecutting units. The company’s choice of the Labelmaster machine is also based on their good experience with other Gallus machines, both the oldest EM 280 and two newer machines of the highest RCS 330 model line. The new Gallus Labelmaster was put into testing operation at the end of 2019.
“The main reason to buy this machine are the possibilities of research and development of new products. The machine serves for collecting data in real time, which we use to develop new solutions. Gallus Labelmaster enables us to test these innovations under our roof in a real production environment," says Bohdan Holona, DTP manager Colognia Press.
