This year, the Phoenix Challenge College Competition will take place in an online setting, where several college teams will present their extensive multi-faceted projects. The entries will include flexo printed packaging designs.
Details for this year:
The event will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2021, and teams will make virtual presentation to a panel of judges. For the second-time, the virtual format will welcome all guests to watch the student teams
The Phoenix Challenge College Competition is a year-long event in which an industry problem is presented to the student teams and requires both market and manufacturing research, as well as practical business application – and most importantly flexo printing knowledge and understanding. Students then present to a panel of industry judges, which grade them across key categories such as research, concept, graphics and execution.
With the changes made in response to everyone’s safety, the initiatives of the Phoenix Challenge Foundation continue. New educational programs are being created to provide presses for start-up flexo printing programs across North America. So far in 2021, two presses are being installed to continue developing these critical programs.
Converters and printers across the industry all agree that workforce development and building pressroom talent are their top concerns and priorities. These programs are designed specifically to address these concerns. As a non-profit organization, support is critical. The organization needs the industry’s financial or volunteer support to continue this work. The PCF is seeking support from both converters and suppliers alike. Industry support will continue benefit these very important initiatives.
