Toray Plastics (America), Inc., has been named a 2021 Healthiest Employers of Rhode Island winner by the Providence Business News. The award comes in the award category of those organizations with 500-1,499 employees.
The awards were presented at a virtual event on August 5, 2021. The gathering featured a panel discussion about the importance of addressing mental health in today’s workplace wellness programs, along with comments from some honorees about how their companies have adjusted their programs as a result of the pandemic. The Healthiest Employers Award Program was developed and is administered by Springbuk, a health analytics software company.
“The safety and well-being of Toray employees has always been our priority and always will be, so we are very pleased to be recognized as one of the 2021 Healthiest Employers in Rhode Island,” says Lisa Ahart, Toray’s VP of US Corporate Human Resources and Environmental Health and Safety.
Ahart also acknowledges that the most important contribution to Toray’s success is employees’ commitment to their health. “Toray’s executive management is extremely grateful for and proud of Toray employees’ dedication to their own well-being, especially during this very protracted and challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Toray offers employees comprehensive, affordable health plans. It launched a wellness program in 2000 following the opening of the company’s Education and Wellness Center. Toray’s wellness program is robust and takes a holistic approach. “The company aims to offer a variety of programs from which employees, family members, and the community can benefit. We strive to bring wellness to wherever an employee is, using technology and flexible program scheduling to encourage maximal participation,” says Ahart.
