A B Graphic International (ABG) has opened a new manufacturing facility in Girona, Spain. Producing ABG branded products, the €2m investment will be used by Enprom Solutions, part of the ABG group, to manufacture nonstop winding machines, converting lines, sleeve machines and automated customized products.
The Spanish converting machinery specialist was jointly acquired by ABG and Kocher + Beck in July 2019.
Having expanded its offering by adding both shrink sleeve machines and winder solutions to its portfolio, ABG considers the new building an integral part to its five-year strategic plan by providing increased sales potential across ABG’s global network. The move will also help increase capacity across the group, provide opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency, and will see more of a focus on further increasing already high levels of customer service.
In an informal, relaxed event over paella and a few drinks, consisting of 50 staff members, the opening of the facility was attended by key individuals from ABG, including owner Mike Burton and CEO Richard Knight, Lars Beck, owner Kocher + Beck and Joan Marc Taboas, CEO Enprom Solutions, who being recently appointed, brings more than 15 years of experience in various senior roles in engineering, consulting, pharmaceutical, automotive industries and multinational machinery manufacturers.
Commenting on the event, Burton says, “By opening this key Spanish manufacturing site, we are sending a message to our global customers that we are in a great position to offer a comprehensive portfolio of finishing solutions, providing them with complete flexibility and enhanced levels of support.”
