A B Graphic International (ABG) has installed two new Vectra ECTR turret rewinders at Aztec Label, the Midlands-based manufacturer of high-quality self-adhesive label and tag products. The investment will help boost Aztec’s productivity following increased customer demand.
ABG installed its 2,000th Vectra ECTR rewinder last year at a privately-owned label converter in the US.
The turret rewinders, capable of delivering fast and precise rewinding of standard self-adhesive labels, are the latest addition to Aztec Label's setup. As a long-standing customer, the company currently operates three ABG turret rewinders, increasing to five, providing the converter with the flexibility to run any job on any available machine.
Having begun manufacturing turret rewinders in 1995, ABG’s entry level ECTR is available in 330mm, 410mm or 510mm web widths and has become the rewinder of choice for many self-adhesive label manufacturers, the company says. Designed for increasing production speed and workflow efficiencies, the Vectra ECTR is also fully upgradable with a wide range of options, including automatic core loading, finished roll closure with print and apply label application, and ABG’s own fleyeVision 100% camera inspection system. Able to work inline, or off-line as a standalone solution with a separate unwind module, Vectra turret rewinders offer short lead times, reduced inventory and cut waste.
“Over the course of the last year, we have been fortunate enough to experience record orders and sales, despite the obvious challenges of the global pandemic,” says Colin Le Gresley, managing director of Aztec Label. “This latest installation is part of the investment that ensures we are able to continue meeting the growing demands of our customers.
